How she works

She takes the time to understand your symptoms, and also your history, environment, nutrition, lifestyle and the events that may have led to changes in your health.

Her approach is practical and fitted to you. She combines appropriate lab testing with nutrition, natural medicine, lifestyle changes and supportive therapies to build a plan that makes sense for you.

Above all, she wants to listen, investigate, explain what she finds and work with you as a partner.

Where her interest began

Dr. Graham's interest in health and nutrition began long before she became a physician. Growing up, her mother believed strongly in nutrition and prevention, which sparked an early curiosity about what influences health.

More than 35 years as a nurse

Before becoming a naturopathic physician, Dr. Graham spent more than 35 years as a registered nurse, much of that time in critical care, emergency medicine and flight nursing. That background gives her a strong conventional medical foundation.

Those years gave her great respect for conventional medicine, especially its ability to respond to acute and life-threatening illness. They also led her to ask a different kind of question: why do some people become chronically ill, and what might we be missing when we focus mainly on the diagnosis or the symptoms?

Naturopathic, functional and environmental medicine

That question led Dr. Graham to naturopathic medicine. She earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the University of Bridgeport, then pursued more education in functional medicine, clinical nutrition and environmental medicine, including a year-long environmental medicine training program with Walter Crinnion, ND. This training lets her look more deeply at what may be contributing to a patient’s health concerns.

Environmental medicine is still a particular interest. When your history suggests it may matter, Dr. Graham considers things like mold and water-damaged buildings, chemicals, heavy metals, exposures at work and other parts of your environment that may be affecting your health.

Both sides of her background

Today she brings both sides of her background to patient care: decades of clinical experience in conventional health care, and her training in naturopathic, functional and environmental medicine.

She believes listening is one of the most important things a physician can do. Your symptoms have a history, and sometimes a small detail is an important clue.
