Lyme disease and testing
-
Lyme disease care
We offer care plans for people with Lyme disease and co-infections, or symptoms after a tick bite. We can work with you and your other doctors during and after antibiotic treatment. You'll see Dr. Alice Bell.
-
Advanced testing
When standard lab tests haven't explained your fatigue, digestive trouble, hormone symptoms or other concerns, specialty testing may help us look more closely. Your history decides which tests make sense. Sometimes standard labs are enough.

Fatigue
Feeling tired all the time, or having little energy, can come from many different conditions. Medications and lifestyle can play a part too, so we start with your whole history. A specialty test, such as a cortisol rhythm test, may add information when it's useful.
-
Digestive health
How well you digest can affect more than digestion. The gut is where the food you eat meets your body, and the intestines are home to bacteria that help with digestion and with absorbing nutrients. When digestive symptoms won’t go away, we may consider stool testing.

Brain fog
“Brain fog” is not a diagnosis. Trouble concentrating, slower thinking, memory problems, trouble finding words and mental tiredness can have many different causes. We start with your story, and in some cases testing can add information.
-
Hormones
Hormone levels change naturally, for example in puberty and menopause, and they can be disrupted in other ways too. We may use testing such as the DUTCH test to look at hormone production and metabolism.
-
Mold exposure and sensitivity
We see people who are concerned about mold. When your history suggests exposure to a water-damaged building, we may consider testing for mold toxins as part of a wider look at your health.

Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia means widespread pain in the muscles and bones, along with fatigue and problems with sleep, memory and mood. If this sounds familiar, tell us what you've tried and what helped. We'll start there.
-
Autoimmune conditions
In an autoimmune disease, the immune system attacks the body's own tissues. The immune system is a complex network of specialized cells, so we start with your whole history.
-
Weight
Our weight-loss services focus on lifestyle habits, starting with nutrition and cutting back on sugars and simple carbohydrates. FirstLine Therapy® is a nutrition program that uses a body composition measurement as its central tool, to help you work toward your nutrition goals.
-
Long-lasting or complex illness
PEMF therapy may be added as a supportive therapy for people with chronic or complex health concerns, including people recovering from Lyme disease. It is offered through Pivotal Health, which is separate from your naturopathic medical care and is self-pay, not billed to insurance.
-
Autism
We offer naturopathic support for people on the autism spectrum. If you're asking about a child, please call us first so we can talk through your questions.
